FAQ

Where is Wool Hands and Dye
of Sweden

In the middle of the Scanian countryside in Sweden!
I live here with my family and chickens and cats.

Is there a Brick & Mortar store

No, not at the moment, but my yarn supply is here in my studio.
  • Those of you who want to pick up the yarn you bought in the shop, on site can choose this alternative, but be aware that I live in the middle of Skåne in Sweden.
  • To pick up the yarn on site, you need to select the alternative at the store's checkout.
  • You also need to contact me to arrange a time to pick up your yarn.
Via email info@woolhandsandye.com, or via the contact form that you can find here .

The yarn I dye

The yarn bases change according to season and quality, some become favourites, others are added.
Here you can find warm rustic yarns that are fantastic for warm garments in our Nordic climate.
Durable sock yarns for cold floors.
Softest merino yarn for those who want to wear wool close to the body or for children and grandchildren.

The environment is important to me in every way.
The yarns are from certified farms where mulching is not practiced.

Colors

The nature around our house provides inspiration for the colors of the yarn.
The colors of Swedish nature always contain a little black and all the colors become beautiful together. This is something I strive for in my yarns. A little black that softens and makes everything blend together, soft and calm to the eye while being a feast for the eyes when combined with a neutral base that makes the color scheme unique with my hand dyed yarn.

The colors are GOT-certified or environmentally classified for a sustainable nature.

Washing Instructions

Hand washing in cool water is recommended to avoid temperature differences that may cause the wool yarn to shrink or shrink.
Intense colors can give off excess color, much like a pair of jeans, despite careful washing after dyeing.

Alternating the skeins through the work

Be mindful that hand-dyed yarn can differ slightly in color even if they are dyed in the same dye bath.
For larger projects, it is good to start alternating skeins from the start to avoid pooling. If you knit a jumper from the top down with short rows in the neck, I recommend starting the alternation after the short rows are completed.
